Biography: Ludmila Stern
Ludmila Stern is a Senior Lecturer and the Coordinator of Russian Studies at the University of New South Wales, Australia. She worked as an interpreter and translator before embarking on an academic career. As part of her research she examines interpreting and other intercultural communication practices, particularly in legal and courtroom settings, and their impact on the courtroom communication, for example during the Australian War Crimes Prosecutions (1986-1993) and, currently, at the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia.
