Abstract
International co-edition, a growing practice in the editorial world, allows publishers from different countries to share the costs involved in the production of illustrated books. The questions that this type of publishing stimulates prove to be interesting for translators and, in a wider sense, for translation too. This introductory overview seeks to give a description of the practice, concentrating on its economic, ethical (in a broad sense) and practical aspects.
